Colonial FirstChoice Geared Share Fund provides a fully managed geared investment aiming to enhance long-term capital growth by increasing your exposure to quality industrial & resource shares and other securities.

Key features and benefits

Colonial First State's Geared Share Fund strategy is to use gearing and to not seek any particular style bias, such as to growth or value, but to consistently add value throughout the investment cycle by taking advantage of mispricing by the market.

Suitable companies are identified by detailed fundamental research, including a high number of company visits and a proprietary database to analyse company financials. The option’s gearing effectively magnifies returns from the underlying investments, whether they are gains or losses. This option predominantly invests in Australian companies and therefore does not hedge currency risk.

Colonial First State Geared Share Fund is available via the FirstChoice investment platforms, providing investors access to a comprehensive range of investment options within one investment wrapper.

Suitable for SMSFs - This gearing strategy is also available to SMSF investors
