Flexible Investment Strategy – One of the key strengths of boutique managers has always been considered to be their ability to change their strategy with the times. Prime Value have demonstrated this ability over the years, initially benefiting from smaller caps before shifting focus towards resources then heavily in cash through the credit crunch and more recently a move towards larger cap stocks.

Higher Returns and Lower Risk – Relative to larger Australian Equity Managed Funds, the Prime Value Growth Fund has typically provided higher returns whilst taking lower risks. This fund has outperformed 16 out of the top 20 largest Aussie Equity funds over the last 5 years and yet has managed to maintain a lower level of volatility (risk measure) than 19 funds (as of the 28th Feb 2010).

Alignment of Interest – Prime Value’s key staff hold around 4% of the overall funds under management, highlighting an alignment of interest of the fund performance and management.
